Oilfield HSSSE Engineering & High-Risk Operations Supervision is an 8-week (360+ hour) industrial engineering attachment conducted with Sinopec International Petroleum Service Corporation Uganda Limited on the Tilenga EPSCC Project for Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba (UPIK). Attached to the Health, Safety, Security, Social, and Environment (HSSSE) Department, the program focuses on field safety governance, high-risk activity supervision, hazard identification, environmental spill response, and regulatory compliance across active well pads, pipeline Rights-of-Way (ROW), and Central Processing Facility (CPF) construction zones. Topics covered include facilitating site inductions and daily Toolbox Talks (TBTs); supervising critical lifting, welding/hot work, and excavation/dewatering operations; auditing Permit-to-Work (PTW), JHEA, and HIRA documentation; managing fuel/hydraulic spill containment, mobile sanitation desludging, and waste segregation; monitoring pipeline coating VOC/respirator safety and dry-film thickness; and completing certified HSSSE trainings in Confined Space Entry, TWSA First Aid/AED/CPR, Work at Height, and Tool Color-Coding.

Earning Criteria

Participation

Complete 8 weeks (360+ hours) of HSSSE engineering field attachment across well pads, pipeline ROWs, Lake Water Abstraction, and CPF sites on the Tilenga EPSCC Project.

Assignment

Facilitate daily TBTs and site inductions, supervise high-risk lifting/hot work/excavation, audit PTW/JHEA records, and coordinate hazardous spill containment and waste segregation.

Test

Pass certified site HSSSE evaluations for Confined Space Entry (Entrant/Attendant/Supervisor), TWSA First Aid/AED/CPR, Work at Height, and Construction PTW Procedures.
