EIT Pre-Commissioning & Petroleum Facilities Integrity is an 8-week (360+ hour) industrial training attachment conducted with Sinopec International Petroleum Services Corporation on the Tilenga Project (Buliisa/Nwoya Districts) for Kyambogo University. Attached to the Pre-Commissioning and Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) teams, the program focuses on E&I pre-commissioning, Cathodic Protection (CP) systems, hydraulic pressure testing, and quality control documentation. Topics covered include insulation resistance (IR), continuity, and earth resistance testing; cable termination, glanding, switchgear, junction box, and motor inspection; Cathodic Protection Transformer Rectifier systems; instrument punch-list logging and CCKS/STS test package compilation; torque-controlled flange/valve tightening; and H3SE compliance including Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) confined space entry and ADRILL emergency response drills.

Earning Criteria

Participation

Perform continuity, IR, and earth resistance testing, inspect junction boxes and switchgears, log instrument punch-lists, and compile CCKS/STS test sheets for QC upload.

Test

Pass site HSE evaluations for SCBA confined space entry, ADRILL emergency response drills, and Permit to Work (PTW) site safety protocols.
