Fellows of the Royal Society of Chemistry will be working in a senior position and have been doing their role for 5 or more years. The Fellow will have demonstrated they hold senior responsibilities, have strategic influence within the workplace and/or sector or have made outstanding contributions to the chemical sciences and/or to the advancement of the profession. The award of Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) status is a peer-reviewed process and recognises the specialist knowledge of members whose work contributes to mitigating and solving environmental challenges. Award holders come from a wide range of disciplines and sectors and utilise their environmental expertise to solve environmental and sustainability issues, make strategic decisions and work as highly skilled practitioners. They are all making a difference, leading the way to a more sustainable world. CEnv awardees have shown they have developed skills in 4 competency areas: • Application of knowledge and understanding of the environment to further the aims of sustainability • Leading sustainable management of the environment • Effective communication and interpersonal skills • Personal commitment to professional standards, recognising obligations to society, the profession and the environment The Royal Society of Chemistry is the UK's professional body for chemical scientists, maintains standards of competence and professional practice and provides support and representation for its members bringing together chemical scientists from all over the world.
