To earn the First Aid and Fire Fighting certificate, recipients participated in an intensive, high-impact training program designed to prepare them for immediate response to life-threatening emergencies and initial fire outbreaks in industrial environments.

Skills

Primary Survey & Scene Assessment: Ability to quickly evaluate an emergency scene for safety and prioritize life-saving actions.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR): Proficiency in manual chest compressions and rescue breathing following international life support protocols.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Usage: Technical skill in operating AED units to assist victims of sudden cardiac arrest.

Trauma & Wound Management: Competence in controlling severe hemorrhaging and applying appropriate dressings to prevent infection or shock.

Injury Stabilization: Ability to treat fractures, burns, and other common workplace injuries.

Chemistry of Fire: Comprehensive understanding of the "Fire Triangle" (Heat, Fuel, Oxygen) and how to break the chain reaction.

Extinguisher Operation (PASS Method): Mastery of the Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep technique to deploy fire suppression agents accurately.

Classification of Fire: Ability to identify Classes A, B, C, D, and K fires to select the correct extinguishing agent (Water, CO2, Dry Powder).

Emergency Evacuation Coordination: Skill in leading organized evacuations and adhering to incident reporting protocols.

Hazard Recognition: Proactive identification of fire risks, such as improperly stored flammable materials or faulty electrical equipment.

Incident Response Protocols: Knowledge of appropriate actions to take in the event of an accident or emergency.

Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Standards: Application of ISO 45001 principles to maintain a safe working environment.

Compliance with National Laws: Understanding of the safety regulations set by the Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT) and Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MGLSD).
