Description

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
The Teaching and Research Pathway provides a framework for educators to improve their teaching techniques, and contribute to improving curriculum and pedagogy throughout the school through the use of research informed strategies. The ultimate goal of this work is to improve teaching, learning and the whole-school experience at St. Andrew's for every student. We imagine the journey of a teacher on this pathway as one in which they develop their personal expertise, and then share that knowledge to the benefit of others in their department, division and beyond.

REQUIREMENTS:
Participants who have finished Level 1 of the Teaching and Research Pathway have completed the following requirements:
-Complete the Teaching All Kinds of Minds workshop
-Completed the CTTL Winter Webinar workshop
-Completed one track of Neuroteach Global
-Completed a workshop in their subject area
-Contributed a resource/scaffold for their department or grade level that can be implemented immediately.
-Identified a situation they wanted to address in their practice. Implemented a strategy that was informed by or aligned with MBE research and wrote a report about how it went to submit for completion.
-Chosen their own Level 1 pathway adventure. Participants have completed at least one of the following to complete their Level 1 requirements: Completed a workshop on pedagogy, completed another workshop in their subject area, read a book on pedagogy and submitted evidence of completion (summary write-up, video presentation, etc) or attended the CTTL Summer Academy or another equivalent requirement that was approved by the pathway leaders.
-Demonstrated evidence of knowledge of Level 1 of this pathway by completing a capstone conversation with a pathway leader to discuss what they have learned while completing Level 1.

The CTTL is the leading pre-collegiate, school-based research center in the United States that designs and delivers professional learning programming centered in Mind, Brain, and Education (MBE) science to partner schools around the world.
