Description

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After completing this training, participants will be prepared to:

-Build knowledge and develop a sense of appreciation for the design process and creative practice

-Connect design, innovation and creativity to Mind, Brain, and Education Science (MBE) in everyday practice by testing aspects of the process within your departments and offices

-Acquire knowledge necessary to build and support a culture of creativity and innovation within offices and departments by offering intentional pauses necessary to think creatively and offer design thinking protocols

REQUIREMENTS:
Participants in this training fulfilled the following expectations and requirements:

-Attend an introductory, three-session Design Thinking, Innovation professional development workshop that helps define users' needs in order to identify the most game-changing part of a problem, and analyze your capacity for developing innovative thinking. Staff and faculty work on common problems from diverse areas of St. Andrew’s as they experience and learn about design thinking protocols.

-Create a Folio goal around your engagement with Design Thinking, Innovation and Creativity.

-Join the D!Lab website and participate in discussions on ideas expressed in the monthly blog.

-Read one of the following books that provide a basis for understanding Design Thinking and Innovation and create a product, circumstance, or artifact that you can practically use within your office, program or department to facilitate the design thinking process.
