COURSE PARTICIPATION CERTIFICATE

The course required students to operate the following portable spectroscopic instruments (UV-VIS-NIR, FTIR and ED-XRF) and interpret their spectra for the purpose of gemstone/material identification, authenticity determination, treatment detection and origin determination. Students were also introduced to Raman spectroscopy, LA-ICP-TOF-MS and participated in practical sessions with each instrument to learn how to interpret their spectra.
