The Road to Generalist Cohort, powered by ADP, is an intensive career-building program designed to help HR professionals develop the skills, confidence, and practical experience needed to succeed as a high-performing HR Generalist. This interactive cohort combines hands-on training, real-world scenarios, and guidance from experienced HR executives who have led people strategy at major organizations.

Over the course of the program, participants build a strong foundation across the core responsibilities of the HR Generalist role. The curriculum covers compliance and record keeping, onboarding strategy, talent and operations management, workplace investigations, and HRIS systems through live demos and applied learning. Participants also gain exposure to real HR workflows and executive-level thinking that prepares them to step into more strategic responsibilities.

What makes this cohort unique is its focus on real-world application. Participants work through role-play scenarios, complete a capstone project, and have the opportunity to participate in job shadowing with HR executives to see how HR leaders navigate complex workplace situations.

At the completion of the program, participants earn an ADP-powered Black In HR digital certification badge, signaling to employers that they have demonstrated practical capability and readiness to operate as an HR Generalist.
