Description

The Learning for Life programme is a transformational journey designed for young adults (18-35) and others committed to personal growth, self-awareness, and developing the skills to thrive in work and life. Through 18-20 hours of interactive workshops delivered face-to-face or virtually, participants engage in a supportive and trusting learning community to explore key areas such as effective communication, problem solving and conflict resolution. This badge confirms the recipient’s dedication to self-improvement of their personal awareness and communication skills, their ability to engage in collaborative learning, and their commitment to applying these skills to create positive impacts in both personal and professional settings. In completing the programme, they have obtained foundational relational leadership skills. What the Badge Holder Achieved Demonstrated active participation in a development programme, including preparation (videos and self-awareness exercises) and practical homework. Took part in 8 live skills practice exercises (e.g. listening skills, coaching practice, difficult conversations) applying these skills to real-life scenarios. Were introduced to 16 theoretical concepts (e.g. Behavioural Drivers from TA, Maister's Trust Equation, Forgiveness, Schein's Career Anchors). Were asked to develop their self-awareness around 7 key human dynamics (e.g. your learning style, your style in conflict, you at your best). Took part in homework aimed at applying the skills learnt in sessions (e.g "catch yourself about to be controlled by one of your behavioural drivers and try something new" OR "If you can, have a difficult conversation with someone and practice finding and keeping your adult voice"). Contributed to group learning, collaborated with peers in exercises, discussions, provided peer feedback and fostered an environment of mutual trust and shared growth. Engaged with pre-session work: watched educational videos, completed exercises, and participated in polls to prepare for each session. Demonstrated growth and development through increased understanding, self-awareness, skills and making more active personal choices in their life and work.
