Description

Supporting individuals through change can be challenging, especially in residential settings where resistance, ambivalence, and disengagement often arise. Without formal clinical training, it can be difficult to recognize the different stages of readiness to change and to know how to respond in ways that keep clients engaged rather than discouraged or defensive. These challenges can create frustration for both staff and residents, making it essential to provide staff with practical strategies to meet clients where they are in the change process. This training equips non-clinical residential staff with the practical tools and insights needed to better understand the stages of behavior change and effectively support residents throughout the process.
