The Dean's Circle: Competent Storyteller is a professional development seminar series offered by the Dean of Business and Hospitality at Montgomery College. Based on the manual Interview Ready by Alton Henley, the program teaches students to tell their professional story with clarity, confidence, and purpose. Participants learn to structure interview responses using the STAR method, articulate their career journey, and demonstrate key workplace competencies, including leadership, resilience, teamwork, influence, and ethical reasoning. They also prepare strategically through company and industry research. Each topic includes guided writing, peer feedback, and scored oral delivery, building both substance and stage presence for high-stakes conversations.
