Description
The Ministry Innovation (MI) internship is a one-year, cohort-based, paid internship for 23–29-year-old adults across the country that includes community formation, spiritual direction, graduate-level courses, and hands-on experience leading innovation. Each intern earns a stipend, travel opportunities, consulting training and experience, and four graduate academic course credits.

Completed Innovative Community Based Immersion travel seminar. 2 graduate level academic credits. This immersive course explores community transformation through collaborative, faith-based change. Students analyze local stories and contexts, plan innovative ministry engagement, and discern their discipleship path for transformative leadership.
Participation
Completed Innovative Ministry by Design course. 2 graduate level academic credits. This course equips ministry leaders with human-centered design thinking skills, grounding them theologically while fostering an innovative ministerial identity. Students learn to apply design processes to adaptive ministry challenges, developing cultural awareness and sustainable innovation practices for transformative, responsive ministry in diverse contexts.
Participation
Cohort Selection and Coaching. 12 contact hours. Interns collaborate closely with faculty and staff to design and facilitate cutting-edge innovation training for congregational teams, then serve as a dedicated coach guiding congregations through transformative change.
Participation
Spiritual Formation and Vocational Discernment. 32 contact hours. Interns works with a Spiritual Director and attend a three day retreat to prepare for innovative leadership with congregational teams.
