COURSE PARTICIPATION CERTIFICATE
Basel, 26/11/2024
The course consisted of the modules:
- Diamond spectroscopy
- Natural diamond formation, morphologies and inclusions
- Colourless natural and synthetic diamonds
- Brown diamonds and HPHT-treated colourless diamonds
- Fancy coloured diamonds (natural, treated and synthetic)
During the course, an introduction to several spectroscopic methods such as UV-vis-NIR, infrared, Raman, and photoluminescence spectroscopy was provided. Application of these spectroscopic methods combined with microscopic observations was performed on natural, treated, and synthetic diamonds during practical exercises. The main purpose of the course was to understand the spectroscopic differences between natural, synthetic, and treated diamonds of all colours.
