Description

This certificate recognizes the invaluable contribution of a volunteer interpreter to the seven-week course, "Bioremediation in War Zones." Offered in partnership with the UVM Institute for Agroecology and facilitated by OGA and Language for Justice, this course brought together 45 participants from Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Sudan, Congo, and Ukraine. The recipient's dedication to providing volunteer interpretation in English, Arabic, or French was essential in creating a shared space for learning and the exchange of knowledge around land care and regeneration in contexts of conflict and displacement. Their commitment went far beyond the classroom sessions. Through extensive collective preparation, including the translation of materials, collaborative glossary building, and many hours of practice, they demonstrated deep professionalism and care. It is through this often-invisible work of bridging languages that genuine connection and collective learning are made possible.
