The Rules of Origin and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) course is ideal for businesses wishing to leverage the opportunities from FTAs, keep money in their pocket and trade compliantly. Filled with examples and presented engagingly, this course prepares businesses and individuals to use FTAs effectively. Using Free Trade Agreements can reduce tax payments resulting in substantial cost savings for businesses. However, complex Rules of Origin must be met, and eligibility to cut taxes must be proven.
Earning Criteria
Participation
Recipients must complete the IEA’s Rules of Origin and Free Trade Agreements course. They must demonstrate knowledge of the rules of origin for preferential and non-preferential origin, know how to identify the correct proofs of origin, know how to determine and correctly declare the origin of goods, know what FTAs are available with specific non-EU countries, know about Binding Origin Information decisions (BOI), how to apply for one and know which authorities are responsible for issuing.
