Oilfield EIT Pre-Commissioning & Electrical Testing is an 8-week (360+ hour) industrial training attachment conducted with Sinopec International Petroleum Service Corporation Uganda on the Tilenga Project (Buliisa District) for Uganda Petroleum Institute, Kigumba (UPIK) . Attached to the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Telecom (EIT) Pre-Commissioning Department, the program focuses on electrical testing, grounding verification, power system pre-commissioning, and quality control documentation. Topics covered include continuity, insulation resistance (Megger), and polarity testing across Variable Speed Drives (VSD), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, distribution boards, and street lighting ; earth resistance testing on Well Head Control Panels (WHCP), Hydraulic Power Units (HPU), and transformers ; generator inspection and start-up; CCTV cable routing and organization; CCK check-sheet logging and punch-list resolution ; and H3SE compliance including Confined Space Entry, Work at Height, and First Aid/CPR .

Participation

Complete 8 weeks (360+ hours) of industrial training in the EIT Pre-Commissioning Department with Sinopec on the Tilenga Project .

Assignment

Perform continuity and insulation resistance testing on VSDs/UPS/lighting cables, execute earth resistance measurements on transformers and WHCPs, and complete CCK check-sheets for QC submission .

Test

Pass site H3SE inductions and safety assessments for Confined Space Entry & Rescue, Work at Height, Flagman/Spotter, and First Aid/AED/CPR .
