This presentation will allow participants to:
-Identify key echocardiographic findings of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, including patterns of LV hypertrophy, systolic anterior motion (SAM) of the mitral valve, and dynamic LVOT obstruction.
-Demonstrate proper imaging acquisition and Doppler techniques for accurate measurement of wall thickness, LVOT gradients (at rest), and mitral regurgitation in patients with suspected or known HCM. -Review and perform appropriate provocative maneuvers (e.g., Valsalva, standing, post-exercise) to unmask dynamic LVOT obstruction and accurately document peak gradients.
