Description
The 4 weeks internship program is an awareness program targeted towards promoting a multi-disciplinary product development ecosystem among students from different engineering backgrounds. The program focuses on nurturing the concepts of system thinking and transformational skills with the idea of utilizing them for product development. The students are teamed up into inter-disciplinary groups and are nurtured to develop a problem statement that can be pursued as an undergraduate project / entrepreneurial activity during the final semester and beyond.
During this four weeks period, the problem statement is nurutured using System Approach and Transformational Skills to clearly identify the feasibility of the project through a System Output framework. Then, the end product specifications are determined by mapping the need and objectives into a Technical Output framework. Based on the Technical Output framework, the scientific principles and engineering techniques / processes required to realize the technical ouputs are derived. By the end of four weeks, the students have a good foundation to develop the identified problem statement or any problem statement into a feasible product and also understand how to work as an inter-disciplinary team with end-to-end innovation.
Interested students are provided an option and facilitated to take up a long term (6 months) internship in a project mode to work on developing a proof of concept that can lead to a commercially viable product.

Earning Criteria
Assignment
The student should develop a problem statement within four weeks based on the principle of System Approach and Transformational Skills. The system output and technical output of the problem statement should be clearly brought out. A conceptual idea of how the technical output can be realized with Science and Engineering workflows should be brought out.
