The Mawal Mentor badge recognises leaders who are backing the next generation of Indigenous business leaders through the Mawal Scholars program. To earn this badge, each Mawal Mentor has committed a minimum of 5 hours of mentoring to the next generation of Indigenous business leaders, and completed the seven Mawal mentor modules: 1. Navigating Culture: the cultural foundations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australia, from kinship and Connection to Country to cultural capability in practice. 2. The First Balance Sheet: 65,000 years of Indigenous management of land, resources and risk, the world's longest-running economy 3. Adaptive Innovation: how Indigenous Australians engineered, adapted and innovated across the continent. 4. Entrepreneurship: the enterprise tradition of continental trade networks and businesses sustained across generations. 5. The Fight for Self-Determination: the leaders and milestones that restored legal and economic ground, from the Freedom Ride to land rights. 6. Reclaiming Capital: how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are building economic strength today. 7. Raising the Ceiling: the everyday behaviours that open doors for Indigenous talent, and the mentor's role in backing Scholars into commercial careers and leadership.
