Description
This session introduced agricultural employers and their supervisors to the current Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Worker Protection Standard (WPS) requirements, including when WPS applies, which agricultural establishments are covered.
Key definitions included the difference between fieldworkers, pesticide handlers, and early-entry workers. Participants reviewed core employer responsibilities, including training requirements, following pesticide label requirements, providing required worker protections for pesticide exposure, ensuring employees receive WPS training in a language and manner they understand, maintaining required records, and preventing retaliation against workers exercising their rights.
