Hydrogen is anticipated to play a key role in the energy transformation, but with great power comes great responsibility to handle it safely. These two half-day sessions will provide an overview of the hydrogen properties that drive its fire/explosion hazards in the event of a release as well as the unique material compatibility challenges it presents. This course will include workshop activities around hydrogen facility siting and safety systems, hazard analysis, discussions of applicable hydrogen codes and best practices, and examples of past hydrogen incidents.
