Description
Our program is designed to teach laypersons the fundamentals needed to advocate for someone who is dealing with mental illness and their family members. This program focuses on teaching mental health advocacy through the lens of understanding how social determinants of health and racism play a key role in worsening mental health outcomes for marginalized communities. Community volunteers are trained by doctors, clinicians, and social workers in an 8-week course that teaches them the fundamentals needed to work one-on-one supporting someone in need of help managing their mental wellness.
