Description
TechSprint is a full-scale, end-to-end hackathon modeled on the same structure used in major innovation hackathons. It follows a clear, outcome-focused approach where participants solve challenges under the Open Innovation problem statement. Student innovators from across campuses and communities can build impactful solutions using Google technologies (mandatory) to address social, environmental, or operational problems they see around them. This initiative goes beyond solution-building. It strengthens real, hands-on execution skills for GDG on Campus organizers, core members, and supporting contributors. By running this hackathon themselves, organizers gain practical experience in event ownership, community engagement, participant coordination, platform usage, evaluation workflow, and final reporting. It prepares them for larger innovation programs and builds long-term capability in planning, running, and closing structured hackathons with confidence. TechSprint ultimately serves two goals: Driving meaningful solutions using Google technologies for real-world problems Training organizers through live, on-ground experience, helping them understand how a complete hackathon lifecycle operates in a real setting. It becomes both an innovation challenge for participants and a capability-building experience for organizers, ensuring campuses are future-ready for more advanced programs and responsibilities.
