Description

AI Agents and the Law: A Research Outlook (Module 2) is an advanced course that builds on the foundations of Module 1. Designed for aspiring legal and technical policy researchers, it guides participants through focused research streams at the intersection of AI and law, developing their ability to identify and investigate emerging research questions in AI governance. The module explored four research streams: Liability Allocation; Legal Alignment and Law-Following AI; Technical Infrastructure and Systemic Risk; and Regulatory Frameworks and Industry Governance. Through expert-led presentations, Q&A sessions, interactive workshops, and a dedicated writing workshop, participants examined emerging legal and governance challenges posed by increasingly capable AI agents and developed their own research agendas. Participants were also required to prepare a research proposal drawing on one of the four streams.
