Description
This three-day immersive training introduces therapists to practical somatic therapy approaches that can be integrated into trauma-informed clinical work. Participants will explore how the body, nervous system, and emotional experience interact in the healing process.
Throughout the training, participants will explore:
• Foundations of somatic therapy and the role of the body in trauma and healing
• Understanding nervous system states and how they influence emotional and relational patterns
• Recognizing signs of regulation, dysregulation, and activation in clients
• Techniques for supporting grounding, safety, and nervous system regulation in session
• Clinical cues that indicate when the body is ready for deeper trauma processing
• Practical somatic interventions that can be integrated into traditional talk therapy
• Using breath, movement, and body awareness to support emotional processing
• Integrating somatic approaches with other therapeutic modalities, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and AEDP
• Ethical considerations and pacing when introducing body-based interventions
Participants will engage in lecture, experiential learning, clinical discussion, and guided practice throughout the training.
