Description
Celebrating the completion of reading 25 Years of Ed Tech by Martin Weller. Weller asserts 4 rules about change in higher education and after reading this foundational Ed Tech text, I can:
1) identify that "very little changes while simultaneously everything changes" (Weller, 2020, Conclusions: Reclaiming Ed Tech).
2) recognize that technological change is about a shift in cultural attitudes rather than a specific technology. (Weller, 2020)
3) understand historical amnesia limits the possibilities for Ed Tech as vendors "deliberately [seek] to position a technology as new and revolutionary" (Weller, 2020, Conclusions: Reclaiming Ed Tech)
4) acknowledge and accept that "technology is not ethically or politically neutral" (Weller, 2020, Conclusions: Reclaiming Ed Tech)
