The GeneLab for High Schools Capstone Research program builds on the foundations of the Basic Course. Students participate in real-time lectures, and as a team of 3-4 members, analyze a NASA Open Science Data Repository (OSDR) dataset, develop a hypothesis based on their findings, and prepare a follow-on research proposal presented to the broader Space Biology community. Student time commitment: 40-60 hours.

Students must have completed the GeneLab for High Schools (GL4HS) Basic course with at least 85% to be eligible to have applied to the Capstone research training program.

Students must have participated in the Capstone Showcase event by presenting slides and responding to a question and answer session.
