AI has become an integral part of our world, and as dental educators, we need to determine how best to incorporate it for the benefit of both our faculty and students. This is an opportunity for you to engage in an interactive, hands-on experience, guided through live prompting to explore the functionalities of AI.

Objectives:

• Compare different AI platforms for curriculum development, instructional videos, class activities, Powerpoints and exams
• Appraise the presenter’s demonstration of authentic assessment in a dental hygiene clinic scenario where AI is employed in the process of determining best practices for dental hygiene treatment care.
• Evaluate how reflective writing as an authentic assessment measure engages students in critical thinking and problem solving as they consider their treatment decisions, reflecting on what worked, what didn’t work, what would they do differently next time.
