Assignment
1. Core IT & Cyber Fundamentals Interns must build foundational knowledge in IT concepts, terminology, networking basics, virtualization, Windows/Linux systems, and general cybersecurity ethics. Sources describe introductory tracks including IT vocabulary, presentation skills, foundational A+/Network+ style material, and ethics in cybersecurity.
Assignment
2. Hands‑On Virtual Infrastructure & System Hardening Interns are required to build and secure a full virtual environment, including: Installing and operating VMware ESXi, Proxmox, or Nutanix hypervisors. Standing up multi‑zone virtual networks (Red/Yellow/Green segments). Deploying Windows and Linux VMs. Applying DISA STIGs manually and via automation tools. They also learn system design and configuration aligned with NIST and government security requirements.
Assignment
3. Security Assessment Tools & Techniques Interns must learn to: Use tools such as Nessus, SCAP, and STIG Viewer for vulnerability and compliance scanning. Assess and report on system security posture. They also learn about risk management, including understanding and applying the RMF Cycle.
Assignment
4. Automation & Scripting for Cybersecurity Interns must become capable of automating hardening and assessment tasks using tools such as Ansible and Puppet. They also learn both manual and automated code review for identifying cybersecurity risks and implementing remediation techniques.
Assignment
5. Systems Architecture & Requirements Engineering Interns practice capturing stakeholder requirements and architecting secure systems with: Firewalls Access control design Secure configuration aligned with NIST They also learn systems development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
Assignment
6. Technology Research & Continuous Learning Interns are expected to conduct daily R&D on emerging technologies to stay current and expand their knowledge base. The program reinforces continuous improvement with quizzes, checkpoints, reflections, and mentor gates.
Assignment
7. Certification Preparation Interns prepare for CompTIA Security+, and if already certified, training shifts toward additional certifications and more advanced topics.
Assignment
8. Soft Skills & Professional Development Interns learn to: Present technical topics effectively. Communicate requirements and findings clearly. Work autonomously in a self‑directed learning model with daily mentor engagement.
Assignment
9. Optional Specialization Areas Depending on progress and interest, interns may branch into specialties such as: Digital Forensics / DFIR Artificial Intelligence (AI curriculum is available in the platform) Advanced cybersecurity roles (Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, Cybersecurity Analyst, ISSE)
