Description

Mechanical Pre-Commissioning, Flange Management & Plant Integrity is an 8-week (360+ hour) industrial engineering attachment conducted with Sinopec International Petroleum Service Corporation Uganda Ltd on the Tilenga EPSCC Project (Buliisa District) for Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). Attached to the Mechanical Pre-Commissioning Department and Fabrication Workshop, the program focuses on high-pressure piping loops, static and rotating equipment integrity, precision shaft alignment, systems handover, and industrial safety. Topics covered include hydrostatic/pneumatic pressure testing under ASME B31.3 standards; hydraulic power unit (HPU) flushing and nitrogen purging; flange management and hydraulic bolt torquing; Annulus Gas Compressor (AGC) separator inspection and laser motor-shaft alignment; EIT continuity/IR testing and ICAPS completions documentation; and strict Permit-to-Work (PTW) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) energy isolation protocols. Topics covered include network topology design, access point and router configurations, Ethernet cable termination (T568B standard), MAC address filtering, clean Windows 11 OS deployment, phishing email defense, and H3SE/JHEA site safety compliance.
