This workshop from Projek Freedom Open Source Indonesia provided hands-on training in building modern, end-to-end data pipelines with a strong focus on orchestration, automation, and business impact. Participants gained insights into emerging career opportunities in Big Data and AI/ML as outlined in the World Economic Forum’s 2025 Journal, and explored orchestration fundamentals, automation case studies, and Medallion Architecture (Raw, Refined, Business layers). Using a simulated Trading Exchange business case, they practiced data modeling and literation techniques, followed by deep dives into Apache Airflow (DAGs, CRON, webserver), Apache Doris (MPP architecture, Star Schema benchmarks), and VeloDB Studio. The workshop featured step-by-step pipeline construction, version control with Git, a hands-on crypto analytics quiz using CoinGecko API (GitHub), and bonus content on data visualization with Looker Studio—equipping participants with practical, open-source tools for scalable data integration and analytics.
