The Effective Altruism Introductory Fellowship is an educational programme organised by Effective Altruism Nigeria to introduce participants to the principles, ideas, and practical applications of Effective Altruism. The fellowship provides participants with an opportunity to explore how individuals and organisations can use evidence, reason, and critical thinking to identify the world's most pressing problems and determine the most effective ways to address them. Through structured learning sessions, guided discussions, assigned readings, and collaborative activities, participants explore key concepts such as cause prioritisation, evidence-based decision-making, global health and development, animal welfare, long-term future considerations, and effective career choices. The September–October 2026 cohort brought together individuals interested in understanding how they can make a meaningful and measurable difference in the world. Participants developed critical thinking and analytical skills, explored high-impact opportunities, and gained a stronger foundation for applying effective altruism principles to their personal, academic, and professional pursuits.
