PUENTES is Renacer Foundation's Certified Community Health Worker training program, authorized by the Florida Certification Board as a Sole Source Provider under designation 5580-A, effective January 27, 2026. The program name means "bridges" in Spanish and reflects the role of community health workers as trusted connectors between residents and the health, social, and community resources they need. The curriculum delivers the FCB-required 30 hours of formal instruction across the five core domains of Communication and Education, Resources, Advocacy, Foundations of Health, and Professional Responsibility, with additional elective hours that allow customization to participant and employer needs. Delivery is hybrid and bilingual in English and Spanish, combining virtual instruction, in-person sessions, and supervised field experience over a 12 to 16 week timeline, with evening and weekend options designed for working adults. Graduates are prepared to apply to the Florida Certification Board for the Certified Community Health Worker credential. PUENTES is named for the Spanish word for "bridges" and means "Promotores Unidos en Educación, Navegación, Tecnología, Equidad y Salud," meaning Promoters United in Education, Navigation, Technology, Equity, and Health.
