This workshop introduces applied pharmacometric modeling and simulation using the open-source R packages nlmixr2 and rxode2. The session explores nonlinear mixed-effects modeling in pharmacology and considers longitudinal pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and combined PK/PD data. It also discusses modeling approaches for categorical outcomes and time-to-event data. Participants gain a broader view of how these tools support different pharmacometric analysis tasks within R and how modeling and simulation relate to the interpretation of drug-related responses over time. A basic understanding of R and pharmacology provides useful preparation for engaging with the examples and the range of model types discussed.
