This qualification certifies that the individual is trained to carry out energy assessments on non-domestic (commercial) buildings.

During the course, learners gained in-depth knowledge of complex building systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), lighting and building controls. The programme combined technical theory with practical assignments, where candidates conducted site surveys, collected detailed building data, and produced Non-Domestic Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) using approved methodologies such as SBEM (Simplified Building Energy Model). They also developed an understanding of building geometry, zoning and energy consumption patterns.

Those awarded this diploma are qualified to assess a wide range of commercial properties, from small retail units to large, complex buildings. They are able to produce compliant EPCs and provide valuable insights to building owners and managers on improving energy efficiency and reducing operational costs.
