Description

LNG:
Day 1 curriculum of this class (LNG codes and regulations) provides an overview of major U.S. federal codes and most relevant industry standards concerning the design and construction of LNG facilities. Specific codes and standards covered include:
• 49 CFR 193: Liquefied Natural Gas Facilities: Federal Safety Standards
• NFPA 59A: Standard for the Production, Storage, and Handling of Liquefied Natural Gas
• ASME B31.3: Process Piping (2022)
This curriculum is primarily designed for engineers and project managers with no or limited experience with LNG project planning development.

Gas Compression:
The Fundamentals of Natural Gas Compression training course provides an introductory understanding of the regulatory and technical requirements governing natural gas compression systems. Key topics include:
• Industry Regulations: Overview of key PHMSA regulatory requirements found in 49 CFR 192, including their impact on gas compression facilities.
• Codes and Standards: Review of applicable standards, including ASME B31.8 Gas Transmission and Distribution Piping Systems the National Electrical Code (NEC) NFPA 70 and AGA XL1001 Classification of Locations for Electrical Installations in Gas Utility Areas.
• Design and Maintenance Requirements: Overview of compressor stations including the types of compressors and consideration for the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of gas compression systems.
• Lessons Learned: Real-world examples illustrating the application of sound engineering principles in gas compression facilities.

This course is ideal for engineers, operators, project managers, and regulatory personnel who need a fundamental understanding of natural gas compressor stations.
