Description

Language for Justice: Introduction to Interpreting, Translation & Professional Autonomy (Cohort 2, 2026) This credential recognizes participation in Language for Justice Cohort 2, a six-week introductory training for multilingual professionals from Global Majority communities. Participants built foundational skills in interpreting and translation, including consecutive, simultaneous, and sight interpreting, remote interpreting on Zoom, and terminology preparation. The program also explored cultural sensitivity, power dynamics, and the interpreter's ethical role, approaching language work as a tool for access, equity, and justice. The training was led by experienced interpreters and translators and closed with a practical interpreting assignment and reflective commentary. Language for Justice is a community initiative connected to OGA (Opportunities for Grassroots Action).
